RBC named as one of the Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations in the World

TORONTO, January 23, 2013 - For the ninth consecutive year, RBC was named one of the Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations in the World. RBC was the only Canadian bank included on the list.

"We are immensely proud of our performance at RBC and today's recognition as a global leader in sustainability and I believe it's time for more corporations to raise the bar," said Gordon M. Nixon, president and CEO, RBC. "I am confident that companies that find balance between their economic, social and environmental responsibilities and opportunities will create substantial long-term value for all their stakeholders. This is the new bottom line."

The Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations in the World is an annual project initiated by Corporate Knights. Launched in 2005, the Global 100 is announced each year at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The objective of the Global 100 list is to recognize successful global corporations that have been world leaders in environmental, social and governance issues. To see full methodology, click here.
