The German government expects the delivery of Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine to be completed "swiftly" together with European partners.

"The German commitment has been made," said deputy government spokesman Wolfgang Büchner in Berlin on Monday. Coordination is underway with the partner states. He could not provide any details or commitments from other governments. Germany had agreed to supply 14 battle tanks from Bundeswehr stocks. Together with other partners, two battalions of Leopard 2 main battle tanks are to be formed for Ukraine.
