The Dutch Magazine for IT Management published an article on the recruitment of IT professionals featuring  as an example. Point is that for the coming years, a shortage of almost 40,000 IT professionals is to be expected in The Netherlands. Effective recruiters need to outsmart their competitors in order to attract the people they need.

In this context, Magazine for IT Management paid attention to the new, unorthodox way of recruitment by Qurius Netherlands as an example of effective recruitment using a new approach: "Qurius started this spring with a recruitment campaign aimed at both seniors as well as starters. For the latter, the company entered into a partnership with colleges in order to attract trainees while offering them education and certifications during their traineeship."

Recruitment Manager Steven Meijer explains: "We not only entered into a partnership with colleges, but also with our own managers to speed up the whole selection and hiring process. It starts with a programme consisting of a number of introductions and seven speed dates with Qurius managers. Each manager focusses on a specific topic, so that in the end a full picture of the candidates emerges. The managers discuss each candidate the same day and the next morning all candidates receive a phone call with the outcome. Those who enter the next round, have the day afterwards an interview with the full Management Team of Qurius Netherlands. The MT decides immediately whether to hire or not. If yes, the candidate receives a contract on the spot which he only needs to sign. The whole process is finished within one week."

The involvement with colleges and starters on the labour market, also represents one of the aspects of Qurius' Corporate Social Responsibility. In this aspect, Magazine for IT Management points at another advantage of Qurius' partnership with colleges: "this reveals the social face of the company while it also delivers the company new personnel."
