PPC announces that, Unit 1 of the new Hydroelectric Power Plant of Ilarion (Ilarion HPP), was for the first time synchronized with the National Interconnected System yesterday, Thursday 23.1.2014 and generated electricity during the limited period of its trial operation, of 20MW capacity .

The trial operation program of the new Hydroelectric Power Plant Ilarion, with total installed capacity in the order of 160MW, will be continued and following its completion, the HPP Ilarion will generate annually approximately 330 Gwh of clean electric power from Renewable Sources.

Ilarion HPP is one of the three largest investments being completed by PPC, since the new natural gas-fired Power Plant of Aliveri with total capacity of 417 MW has recently commenced commercial operation, while within 2014 the natural gas-fired Power Plant of Megalopolis V, with total capacity of 811MW, will be commissioned.
