DÜSSELDORF (dpa-AFX) - The television channel Sat.1 wants to broadcast more German family series in the evenings. German series are "deeply embedded in Sat.1's DNA", said station boss Marc Rasmus on Thursday at the Screenforce Day Festival in Düsseldorf. "Die Landarztpraxis" - the second season is currently airing Mondays to Fridays at 7 p.m. - is a success for the station. Sat.1 is therefore planning to expand its German series line-up. This program color will then start an hour earlier - at 6 p.m. - with a second format.

From July, the station will produce "Für alle Fälle Familie", a series with 80 episodes for the 6 p.m. time slot. The main character Julia "Jule" Beyer (Anna Angelina Wolfers) returns to her home on the Moselle to work as a judge after a separation. She has had enough of men - but is suddenly caught between two suitors. Filming is currently underway in Brandenburg for 80 episodes of "Die Spreewaldklinik" with Sina-Valeska Jung and Muriel Baumeister. Broadcasting is scheduled to start in 2024 in the 7 p.m. slot on Sat.1.

Channel boss Rasmus emphasized: "Our investment in further series shows how seriously we take this program color. I am very happy about our series with heart at Schliersee, in the Spreewald, on the Moselle and in other beautiful places."/bok/DP/ngu
