Signing the United Nations Global Compact

PRESS KOGYO CO., LTD. (headquartered in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director, President & COO: Yuki Shimizu) is pleased to announce that we have signed the United Nations Global Compact (hereafter "UNGC"), advocated by the United Nations and registered as a participating company. We have also joined the Global Compact Network Japan (hereafter "GCNJ") which consists of Japanese companies that have signed the UNGC. (Join dateMay 27, 2024)

The UNGC is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, bringing together the UN and private sector to build healthy global society. By signing the UNGC, companies and organizations are required to commit to supporting and implementing the Ten Principles of the UNGC, which encompass human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption under the guidance of their leadership.

We fully endorse the Ten Principles of the UNGC and have integrated them into the activities under our materiality and daily operations aiming for resolving the challenges related to SDGs. We will make utmost efforts for realizing sustainable society.

  • Human Rights

Principle1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and

Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

  • Labour

Principle3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;

Principle4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;

Principle5: the effective abolition of child labour; and

Principle6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

  • Environment

Principle7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

Principle8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

Principle9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

  • Anti-Corruption

Principle10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
