The sports car manufacturer Porsche has suffered a setback in sales in the first half of the year.

A total of 155,945 vehicles were delivered from January to June, seven percent fewer than a year ago, as the DAX-listed company announced on Tuesday. Business was particularly poor in China, where 29,551 cars were sold, a third fewer than in the previous year. Porsche attributed this to the tense economic situation in China. Sales also fell in North America. Record sales in the second quarter were unable to fully compensate for the decline in the first three months. In contrast, Porsche saw an upturn in Europe, particularly in the German market, which grew by a good fifth.
