The list submitted by Marco Polo International Italy (which is headed by the Chinese Sinochem), also on behalf of Camfin--which together hold 51.1 percent of Pirelli's capital--includes 12 names, a note said.

The candidates named by Camfin are Marco Tronchetti Provera (who will be executive vice chairman), Andrea Casaluci (who will be CEO), lawyer Michele Carpinelli, and Domenico De Sole, a former independent director of the group.

A group of asset management companies and institutional investors who are shareholders in Pirelli, collectively holding 1.33 percent of the capital, submitted a list of three candidates.
