Spanish print provider Impulso opts for Océ

Venlo, The Netherlands, 15 November 2011 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that Impulso, a Spanish print provider, located in the suburbs of Madrid, opts for an Océ JetStream® industrial inkjet solution for book-on-demand production.

Aiming high with Océ

When asked for the major decision criteria for Océ and its high performance Océ JetStream 1000 inkjet printing system, Luis de Tomas Sanz, Managing Director of Impulso, says: "Océ is a reference company for digital printing technology. Its strengths are extraordinary productive printing systems, its software skills and a competitive offering. The Océ JetStream 1000 definitely sets new quality standards in color printing and publishing."

The Océ JetStream 1000 prints 1,010 A4 images per minute at a duplex printing speed of 75 meters per minute. Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing adds: "This speed offers a convincing productivity to compactness ratio. The printing system meets Impulso's need for quality and maximum output, all at competitive running costs." The Océ PRISMA® workflow management software is efficient, easy-to-use and adaptable to further requirements. Impulso will print books on-demand on its new Océ JetStream 1000, mainly for technical, educational, scientific, and medical purposes, but also fiction.

Impulso's future will be publishing on-demand

Impulso strives to provide top-quality solutions for a global publishing market. Impulso clients come from cultural and business markets. The company's on-demand solutions help to reduce unnecessary stocks and costs. Impulso's sustainability and environment protection policy aims for a top position in the market. Impulso is part of the Plana Group.

Luis de Tomas Sanz sees the near future of publishing in print-on-demand: "It complements offset printing for special-interest editions and short-runs of backlist titles. Reduced cost and quicker delivery times with digital on-demand printing is the perfect answer for most publishers' needs."

The investment in the versatile Océ inkjet technology allows Impulso to easily respond to changing customer requirements. And publishers may focus on their core business: the development of an attractive portfolio for their readers.
