Annual awards program recognizes the most innovative industrial, product and graphic designs from around the world

HARTFORD, Wis. (Jan. 2016) - The Cattura downdraft from BEST, a Nortek company (Nasdaq: NTK), is a recipient of the 2015 GOOD DESIGNAward. Now in its 65 year, GOOD DESIGN is the world's most prestigious, recognized and oldest design awards program, organized annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The program strives to honor products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing.

Each year, GOOD DESIGN covers new consumer products designed and manufactured in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. The program recognizes quality design with an emphasis on form, function and aesthetics that extend beyond those of ordinary consumer products and graphics. Since 1950, approximately 40,000 GOOD DESIGN Awards have been awarded for design and innovation, sustainability, branding, ecologically responsible design, human factors, material, technology, graphic arts, packaging and universal design. Awarded corporations include some of the world's leading and most visionary Fortune 500 companies.

In 2015, the BEST Cattura downdraft was one of over 900 winning new products and graphic designs. Product categories include: electronics, transportation, medical equipment, protective equipment, energy systems, robotics and bionics, building products/materials, furniture, textiles, industrial, environments, hardware, bath and accessories, kitchen/appliances, floor and wallcovering, tabletop, household products, personal, office products, children's products, sports and recreation, lighting, tools, and graphics, branding and packaging.

The Cattura downdraft continues BEST's commitment to designing luxury range hoods. It provides as much capture as a traditional chimney hood, but takes its form as a thin, sleek retractable unit that elevates kitchen design and improves indoor air quality, thanks to its unique, patented VERTEX Complete Capture Design.
