NEXTDC Limited (ASX: NXT), Australia's leading Data-Centre-as-a-Service provider, today announced Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect is now available on-demand nationally through the AXONVX virtual exchange network.

Organisations can connect their internal network to the AXONVX fabric in AXONVX-enabled data centres nationwide. AWS Direct Connect provides a dedicated network connection to an AWS hosting location, allowing users to create virtual interfaces directly to AWS cloud services.

By utilising AWS Direct Connect in an AXONVX-enabled data centre, users can benefit from the performance, reliability and security of their AWS applications and workloads, and adopt a hybrid architecture model, where applications and workloads can be moved between private, public and on-premise platforms as needed.

NEXTDC CEO Craig Scroggie commented, 'The addition of AWS Direct Connect significantly strengthens the AXONVX ecosystem, providing customers national access to AWS' leading cloud services with secure, high-speed connectivity. The dynamic, elastic AXONVX switching fabric allows customers to provision services in minutes, offering unprecedented speeds and full integration between cloud services and internal applications, with users benefitting from flexible and dynamic bandwidth through automated network provisioning.'

Stefan Jansen, AWS Australia and New Zealand Head of Channels and Alliances, said 'Our customers are using the AWS Cloud to drive agility and innovation in Australia and beyond. NEXTDC is playing a key role in supporting customer success by expanding AWS Direct Connect availability in Australia.'
