New Delhi Television Limited announced that on 19 June, 2019 in regard to the order dated 17 June, 2019 passed by SEBI (Impugned Order), whereby, a penalty of INR 12,00,000 was imposed upon NDTV under the provisions of Section 15A(b) of the SEBI Act, 1992, on account of alleged non-compliances of the SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeover) Regulations, 1997. In appeal instituted by NDTV, assailing the Impugned Order, the Hon'ble Securities Appellate Tribunal at Mumbai, at a hearing on 11 January, 2021, disposed of the appeal filed by NDTV in light of the judgment dated 4th September, 2019 passed by the Hon'ble Bombay High Court, which invalidated the Impugned Order. SEBI has filed an SLP before Hon'ble Supreme Court against the said order of invalidation, which is pending.
