A brand new security technology conference is being launched in San Francisco.

TrustyCon, which has been dubbed the first trustworthy technology conference, has been organised by NCC Group company, iSec Partners, in collaboration with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and DEF CON.

The main topic of discussion will be about how the industry can refocus trust in technology and technology companies during a time of cynicism and contempt towards consumer security and privacy.

Organisers hope that TrustyCon will serve as a call-to-action to companies to design their technology and businesses to be secure and trustworthy.

Alex Stamos, co-founder of iSEC Partners, will officially open the conference and then a raft of industry experts will take to the stage.

Other speakers at the event include Black Hat and DEF CON founder Jeff Moss, software security engineer from Google Chris Palmer and Marcia Hofmann, senior staff attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

The event is aimed at security researchers, practitioners and those who are interested in discussing the technical, legal and ethical underpinnings of a stronger social contract between users and technology.

TrustyCon takes place on 27 February at the AMC Metreon Theatre in San Francisco, California.
