Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) ATM Murtoza Reza Chowdhury, ndc, has been elected chairman and Sonar Bangla Insurance Company Limited Chairman Sheikh Kabir Hossain and Managing Director (MD) of MM Ispahani Ltd. Mirza Salman Ispahani have been elected directors of the National Tea Company Ltd. In the election Sheikh Kabir Hossain and Mirza Salman Ispahani won while Abdus Shahid conceded defeat.

Outgoing NTCL Chairman and Chief Whip Vice-Principal Abdus Shahid announced 20% cash dividend for the shareholders in the 34th AGM for the fiscal year 2011.

The Companyâs tea estates include Patrakhola Tea Estate, Kurmah Tea Estate, Champarai Tea Estate, Madanmohanpur Tea Estate, Madabpur Tea Estate, Jagadishpur Tea Estate, Teliapara Tea Estate, Chundeecherra Tea Estate, Lackatoorah Tea Estate, Parkul Tea Estate, Premnagar Tea Estate, and Bejoya Tea Estate. The Company produces Crush, Tear, and Curl (CTC) black tea and annual average production is approximately 5.20 million kilograms. The Patrakhola Tea Estate has approximately 1857 hectares. The Kurmah Tea Estate has approximately 1,276 hectares. The Champarai Tea Estate has approximately 808 hectares. The Madanmohanpur Tea Estate has approximately 403 hectares. The Company also exports liquoring bulk tea and its own brand tea.
