  • New equipment being delivered to Pelham substation
  • Rolling road closures in place on Wednesday 24 January
  • The new reactor is a vital investment to upgrade and enhance the efficiency of the electricity system

A large delivery will be made to National Grid's substation in Stocking Pelham on Wednesday 24 January 2018.

The delivery, part of National Grid's work at the site, will bring equipment vital to the continued working of the substation.

The delivery will involve some rolling road closures as the vehicle carrying the equipment travels from the A10 along the A120 through Standon to Little Hadham before turning left and travelling up Albury Road through Patmore Heath and along Ginns Road into Stocking Pelham.

Bob Jones, project engineer for National Grid, said: 'The delivery has been many months in the planning and we've worked hard to try and minimise any disruption deliveries of this kind can cause. The nature of the rolling road closures means that the vehicles will be continuously moving, albeit at a slow pace, so all being well the route along the A120, Albury Road and Ginns Road into Stocking Pelham won't be affected for too long.

'Once this delivery is complete, our work will continue to take place within the substation itself. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the local community during this work.'
