? Overview
The < MM3608 / MM3615 > is a 300 mA hyposaturation type regulator IC with a built-in thermal shutdown and temperature sensor. From a safety perspective, there has also been an increase in market demand for thermal shutdown for the low-current compact LDO. In addition to overcurrent prevention with conventional current limiting, the inclusion of thermal shutdown that detects heat and shuts down the IC helps to increase safety.
The MM3615 with built-in temperature sensor provides monitoring of the temperature within the IC from the system side, which allows solutions to be developed to increase the safety of the overall system.
§Features
1. | Built-in thermal shutdown (MM3608 / MM3615): |
Shuts down output when abnormal heat generation is detected on the IC to prevent damage from abnormal heat generation. | |
2. | Built-in temperature sensor (MM3615): |
The temperature within the chip can be output. The output of the temperature sensor is available in two line-up options: the linear type MM3615A; and the SW type MM3615B. |
