Craneware agreed an alliance with Microsoft aimed at bringing artificial intelligence to the U.S. healthcare industry.

The U.K.-based healthcare-software provider said Tuesday that it had been named a Microsoft Global Partner solution provider, and that the signed agreements included joint marketing initiatives as well as technical innovation and healthcare industry collaborations.

It added that as part of the partnership its Trisus platform and select Trisus offerings will be available on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform marketplace starting in July.

Craneware said it had started working with Microsoft to speed up the application of AI enhancements to its existing Trisus offerings as well as the exploration of new AI-based applications.

"This agreement deepens our relationship with Microsoft, aligning strategic goals and fostering collaboration on future technology initiatives, marking a milestone in our journey to transform the business of healthcare," Craneware's Chief Executive Keith Neilson said.

Shares at 0730 GMT were up 65 pence, or 2.8%, at 2,375 pence.
