If you've got access to a sim card, you've got access to the whole of a person's life. Mobile phones, mobile data, online banking give the criminals new opportunities to attack us in more places than before.

The challenge for the police is to stay one step ahead and technology has helped speed up that process. Hampshire and Gloucestershire Constabulary together with the Portsmouth University have launched a new pilot project, recruiting special constables to help solve cybercrime cases.

UK Home Secretary Theresa May visited Portsmouth to see the new pilot project and was given a demo of XRY mobile forensics software during the tour.
