On Monday, July 8th, 2023, Mersen celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Terrassa site (Spain), Cirprotec's historical site, and the 10th anniversary of its integration into the Group.

The site, which employs 130 people, is the Group's main Center of Excellence for surge protection devices.

On this occasion, the semi-automatic production line for the new Surge-Trap® K platform for plug-in surge protectors was inaugurated. This new line represents a significant step forward in the site and the product line's production capacity and illustrates the Group's commitment to technological innovation. It required an investment of more than 3 million euros.

In addition to all site employees and member of the executive committee, Terrassa's representative of the City Hall, representatives of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya were present, as were customers and suppliers.

Gilles Boisseau, Group Executive Vice President Electrical Power, commented: "We are delighted to celebrate these anniversaries. We would like to thank all those who took part in this adventure and look forward to contributing to the economic and technological development of this region. We are convinced of the potential of this city, which offers a favorable entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as a hub of talent and innovation, supported by the University."

Cirprotec has double its turnover since its integration into the Mersen group. This growth illustrates the quality of the site's facilities and production capabilities and is reflected in the creation of jobs and the professional development of teams.
