Mercer Timber Products : A long-standing success story of sustainability in Thuringia
Mercer Timber Products GmbH is a long-standing member of NAT Thuringia. We have fulfilled the membership requirements at our site for over ten years. Mercer Timber Products GmbH works resource-conservingly and thus makes a valuable contribution to the efficient use of renewable raw material wood and to the energy transition with its biomass cogeneration plant. We are actively helping to make Thuringia a sustainable and future-proof federal state.
What is the NAT Thuringia
The Thuringia Sustainability Agreement is an agreement between the state government of Thuringia and various stakeholders from business, science and civil society to jointly implement measures to promote sustainability and environmental protection in Thuringia. The agreement was signed in 2011 and covers various fields of action, such as climate protection, resource efficiency, renewable energies and sustainable mobility. The aim is to develop Thuringia into an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable federal state.
Innovative solutions are to be found and implemented through the cooperation of all stakeholders to protect the environment and improve the quality of life of people in Thuringia in the long term.
The Thuringia Sustainability Agreement is an essential step toward sustainable development. It shows that joint efforts by government, business and society are crucial to overcoming the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation.
