Sunshine Coast University Hospital will release 230 packages detailing work available on the hospital through the Industry Capability Network's (ICN) website on 16 January.

The packages detail the available opportunities in the multiple sub projects that make up the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) project. Sub-projects include the main hospital building, the Facilities Management Centre, the Mental Health Unit, carparks 1 and 2 and hard and soft landscaping.

Lend Lease Project Director, Mark Buckle said he was excited to be announcing the available opportunities to the market.

"Release of these 230 packages provides details of the scope of works involved in the hospital, and represents the very beginning of the construction process," Mr Buckle said.

All information about each of the sub-projects, and registering interest is done only through the ICN Gateway website - http://www.scuh.icn.org.au/

The 800 companies who have already registered on the ICN Gateway for the SCUH project will receive notification of the packages release via email, while advertisements will also appear in the Tenders section of major newspapers in the coming weeks.

Mr Buckle said all interested companies will need to register their interest against relevant packages on the ICN Gateway website from 16 January.

"Lend Lease is really keen to hear from all companies who have the capability to deliver the packages."

Closing dates for the packages are:

  • Structure trades - end of February 2013
  • Building envelope and façade - end of April 2013
  • Fitout and finishes - end of July 2013
  • Landscaping - end of August 2013.

Once packages have been awarded the successful companies will be displayed on the ICN Gateway website.

ICN Queensland General Manager Peter Robinson commended the range of initiatives Lend Lease is taking to provide opportunities for local companies.

"Lend Lease have demonstrated genuine commitment to seeking local participation in this project and are setting a new benchmark for projects of this nature," Mr Robinson said.
