Notice of Recording of Extraordinary Losses in Non-consolidated Financial Results Tokyo, January 31, 2017 - Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, "Kyowa Hakko Kirin") has recorded extraordinary losses in the non-consolidated financial results as follows:

1. Details of extraordinary losses

   In light of the financial position, etc. of FUJIFILM KYOWA KIRIN BIOLOGICS Co., Ltd., an associate of Kyowa Hakko Kirin accounted for using the equity method, Kyowa Hakko Kirin has recorded ¥49 million of loss on valuation of shares of subsidiaries and associates and ¥22,282 million of provision of allowance for doubtful accounts for subsidiaries and associates as extraordinary losses in the non-consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ended December 2016.

2. Impact on consolidated financial results

As the loss on valuation of shares of subsidiaries and associates and the provision of allowance for doubtful accounts for subsidiaries and associates are eliminated in the consolidated financial results, there will be no impact on the consolidated financial statements.
