PHOENIX (AP) _ Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. (KNX) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $254.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Phoenix-based company said it had net income of $1.52. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.61 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.43 per share.

The trucking company posted revenue of $1.82 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.72 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $743.4 million, or $4.45 per share. Revenue was reported as $6 billion.

Knight-Swift expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.10 to $5.30 per share.
