Kiora Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that it has appointed Lisa Walters-Hoffert as an independent member to the Company's Board of Directors. Ms. Walters-Hoffert is a seasoned biotech executive bringing decades of experience in strategic development, governance, finance and capital markets to the Company's Board. Ms. Walters-Hoffert will serve as chair of the audit committee and as a member of the compensation committee.

Concurrent with her appointment, Ken Gayron, current chair of the audit committee, will step down as a director of the Company's Board due to other work commitments. Ms. Walters-Hoffert was a co-founder of Dar Bioscience, Inc. and following the company's merger with Cerulean Pharma, Inc. in July of 2017, became Chief Financial Officer of the resulting public company. For more than 25 years, Ms. Walters-Hoffert served as an investment banker focused on small-cap public companies in the life science and technology sectors.

From 2003 to 2015, Ms. Walters-Hoffert worked at Roth Capital Partners as Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division. Ms. Walters-Hoffert has also held various positions in the corporate finance and investment banking divisions of Citicorp Securities and Oppenheimer &Co, Inc. Ms. Walters-Hoffert currently serves as a director for Flux Power Holdings, Inc. and is a member of the Board of Directors of The Elementary Institute of Science. Additionally, she has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Venture Group, as Past Chair of the UCSD Librarian's Advisory Board, and as the Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest.

Ms. Walters-Hoffert graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. in Management Sciences.
