SIC CELEBRATES 4 CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF LEADERSHIP

  • SIC led the audiences in 2022, with 16.7% share, against TVI's 15.7% and RTP1's 10.8%;
  • SIC led in every month of the year 2022 and in the average of every day of the week;
  • In 2022, SIC's leadership extended, once again, to the commercial targets - A/B C D 15/54 and A/B C D 25/54;
  • SIC's leadership was transversal to mornings, afternoons, and prime time;
  • The match between Portugal and Morocco in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar was the program that achieved the highest market share in 2022 - 70.2%;
  • SIC has the biggest one-day lead of the year (December 10), with almost 15 points difference over the competition;
  • Jornal da Noite is the daily program with the best average audience in all of Portuguese television. It leads, just like all of its rubrics: Polígrafo SIC, Guerra Fria, Opinião de Luís Marques Mendes, Essencial, Grande Reportagem, or Reportagem Especial;
  • Primeiro Jornal is the most watched lunchtime news program by the Portuguese;
  • Casa Feliz and Júlia led the mornings and afternoons;
  • SIC and SIC Notícias were the leading channels in the audience of the debates for the Legislative 2022;
  • SIC Notícias ended the year with a 2.3% share, up 0.3 p.p. in relation to 2021, and achieving the best result in the Gfk/CAEM panel;
  • SIC's thematic channels (SIC Notícias, SIC Mulher, SIC Radical, SIC Caras and SIC K) ended the year 2022 with a 3.6% share, up 0.2 p.p. in relation to 2021.

SIC remained the most watched station in Portugal for the fourth consecutive year. IMPRESA's station ended the year leading with 16.7% share, against TVI's 15.7% share and RTP1's 10.8% share.

The leadership continues to extend to the commercial targets - A/B C D 15/54 and A/B C D 25/54 - and SIC ended the year with 12.6% and 12.5% share respectively.

SIC ended the year 2022 leading in every month of the year, on every day of the week and in the mornings, afternoons, and prime time, thus demonstrating the consistency of the leadership.

In the morning slot (between 8 am and 2 pm) SIC ended the year leading with 17.5% share and the program Casa Feliz led in the weekday mornings. In the afternoon period (between 2 pm and 8 pm), SIC also ended the year leading with a 15.9%

share, and Júlia Pinheiro's program led, reaching a better market share than the competing programs.

SIC ended the year leading with a 19.2% share in prime time, with special emphasis on the national fiction products broadcast in this time slot, as well as the entertainment formats broadcast during the weekends.

Jornal da Noite ended the year leading once again. It is the nightly news program preferred by the Portuguese and it is the daily program with the best average audience of all Portuguese television. The good performance of the existing rubrics throughout the week, such as Polígrafo SIC, Guerra Fria, Opinião de Luís Marques Mendes, Essencial, Grande Reportagem or Reportagem Especial contributed to its leadership. Highlight also goes to Primeiro Jornal, which ended 2022 leading systematically from Monday to Sunday.

The match between Portugal and Morocco in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar was the program that achieved the highest market share of 2022 - 70.2% -, and on that date (December 10) SIC achieved the biggest advantage of the year in one day, with almost 15 points difference.

In December, SIC ended the month leading with a 16.5% share, against TVI's 15.2% share and RTP1's 12.4% share. In the last month of the year, SIC increased the distance to TVI to 1.3 p.p. and went up against November.

SIC was, once again, the most watched channel by Portuguese families this Christmas. This is the 17th consecutive year in which the IMPRESA station has been elected the preferred company for Christmas Eve and Day.

SIC Notícias grows and reaches the best result in 2022

In 2022, the set of SIC thematic channels (SIC Notícias, SIC Mulher, SIC Radical, SIC Caras and SIC K) ended with a 3.6% share, up 0.2 p.p. comparing to 2021. SIC Notícias ended with a 2.3% share, up 0.3 p.p. in relation to 2021, and achieving the best result since the implementation of the audience measurement panel of Gfk/CAEM.
