Appointment Strengthens ICF's Energy Efficiency Business
Fairfax, Virginia, January 27, 2014 -
ICF International, a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has named Gene Rodrigues to the position of vice president for ICF.
With more than 20 years of experience in the utility energy efficiency business, Mr. Rodrigues' appointment expands ICF's expertise in energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM). Throughout his career, Mr. Rodrigues has demonstrated results in executing major utility policies and programs, conducting multisector resource planning, and developing innovative approaches to improve customer energy efficiency.
"Gene Rodrigues brings a deep background in developing innovative demand side strategies, along with his passion for the industry and reducing climate change impacts," said Mike Mernick, senior vice president for ICF International. "He will be a key contributor in developing new markets for ICF's award-winning DSM program design and implementation services."
Mr. Rodrigues most recently held the position of senior director of DSM strategy for Southern California Edison, one of the U.S.'s largest electric utilities. In his 23 years at Edison, he held positions overseeing every aspect of the company's DSM programs, from regulatory policy to portfolio planning and from program implementation to evaluation.
Mr. Rodrigues is a board member of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, the Consortium for Energy Efficiency, and the China-U.S. Energy Efficiency Alliance. He is also a member and advisor of the State & Local Energy Efficiency Action Network, an executive leadership group for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He received the first ever EPA Climate Leadership Award for individual leadership in 2012.
Mr. Rodrigues holds a bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
