JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Hudson Securities, Inc. today announced the hirings of Blaine R. Carroll as a Senior Equity Analyst covering the telecom industry and Ara Berkwits as a Director of the firm's recently-launched Corporate Access Group.

Mr. Carroll, who was recognized in The Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street" survey in 2008 and 2010 for his stock picks in the telecommunications equipment sector, will be covering a broad range of small- to large-cap wireless companies. Hudson continues to add vertical sector expertise to its established equity research team, which currently includes coverage of the U.S. aviation industry, industrials, and gaming, lodging and leisure sectors. In addition, the firm covers micro- and small-cap Chinese companies listed in the U.S.

As Director of Corporate Access, Ms. Berkwits will coordinate the firm's effort to provide investors with direct access to corporate management teams. She will be working closely with the firm's growing equity research team to help foster relationships between corporate issuers and institutional investors, and will also manage non-deal related roadshows and activities.

Prior to joining Hudson Securities, Mr. Carroll was a Managing Director at FTN Midwest Securities covering the wireless equipment industry. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Oppenheimer & Company, where he covered the semiconductor industry with a focus on communication semiconductors. Mr. Carroll also covered the wireless equipment and semiconductor sectors at Adams, Harkness and Hill, and prior to that he was a Director at SG Cowen covering the wireless, telecom and cable TV equipment industries. He holds an MBA in Finance from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Providence College, and the CFA designation.

Ara Berkwits joins Hudson Securities from Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. where she was a Senior Roadshow Planner & Vice President of Corporate Events. She was responsible for scheduling and organizing non-deal roadshows for institutional clients and Fortune 500 companies. She also served as the liaison for the firm's London office on all corporate access activities, as well as a direct contact for banking clients and IPO candidates. Ms. Berkwits is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology.
