Hindustan Zinc Ltd. said its third-quarter net profit rose, mostly due to higher metal sales.

The Indian miner said Wednesday that its net profit for the third quarter rose 36% to 22.00 billion Indian rupees ($300.6 million).

Revenue for the Indian miner rose 28% to INR59.15 billion in the period, it said.

Sales of silver soared 66%, while sales of zinc rose 21% and lead sales gained 25% from a year earlier during the quarter.

The Indian miner is continuing to use technology to increase efficiency in its mines and smelters, Chief Executive Arun Misra said.
