HPE today is alerting customers to a new statement published by Intel regarding issues associated with the Intel microcode patch designed to address the Side Channel Analysis vulnerability

PALO ALTO, CA-January 23, 2017 - Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) today is alerting customers to a new statement published by Intel regarding issues associated with the Intel microcode patch designed to address the Side Channel Analysis vulnerability. Intel recommends that customers stop deployment of this microcode patch to avoid introducing unpredictable system behavior.

HPE has never put this patch in production so this does not apply to HPE server shipments. All HPE servers ship from HPE factories with the recommended BIOS version. Therefore, the Intel alert does not apply to the servers that HPE customers have received from HPE.

However, the alert does apply to customers that recently downloaded the System ROM update with the Intel microcode patch from the HPE website.

Please go to the Intel Security Center site and the HPE Security Vulnerability site for more information.
