Petroleos del Peru - PETROPERU S.A agreed to acquire Block 64 from Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM) and Hess Corporation (NYSE:HES) on January 10, 2013. The deal was approved by the Board of Petroleos del Peru.

Hess Corporation specializes in crude oil and natural gas exploration and production. The activity is organized around three families of products: - crude oil: 225,000 barrels of crude oil produced per day in 2023; - natural gas: 17 million m3 of natural gas produced per day; - liquefied natural gas: 69,000 barrels of liquefied natural gas produced per day. Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the United States (58%), Guyana (33.2%), and Malaysia (8.8%).
