Heartland Express, Inc. announced earnings results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2018. For the fourth quarter, the company announced sales was USD 147.003 million compared to USD 165.704 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 29.559 million compared to USD 9.869 million a year ago. Net income was USD 22.440 million compared to USD 38.604 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 0.27 compared to USD 0.46 a year ago. For the full year, sales was USD 610.803 million compared to USD 607.336 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 89.787 million compared to USD 63.544 million a year ago. Net income was USD 72.677 million compared to USD 75.173 million a year ago. Heartland Express, Inc. is a holding company. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, is a short, medium and long-haul truckload carrier and transportation services provider.
