HONOLULU, June 27, 2024 - Hawaiian Electric crews will repair underground utility equipment along Farrington Highway in Kapolei on Monday, July 1, and Wednesday, July 3, impacting area traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. both days.

The work to improve system reliability will close a section of the far-right, eastbound lane of Farrington Hwy. between Kowelo Avenue and Kapolei Golf Course Road. Access to the sidewalk and bike lane also will be restricted in the work zone.

Electronic message boards will be posted to alert the public of the planned lane closure. Safety signs and traffic cones will mark the work area and direct motorists to the open traveling lane. Special duty police and flagmen will provide onsite traffic control.

Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds when approaching and passing the crews and multiple utility trucks on the roadway, anticipate traffic delays or use alternate routes.
