HAMBURG (dpa-AFX) - The German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (Nabu) has criticized the climate targets of several cruise companies. "It is irresponsible for an industry to set itself targets that fall short of Germany's climate goals," said Nabu transport officer Sonke Diesener. According to Nabu, eight out of twelve cruise companies have stated that they want to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. "This is neither acceptable nor communicable - especially for a leisure activity," said Diesener. A total of 14 companies were surveyed, two did not respond.

Climate-neutral means that the climate is not affected. The German government wants to achieve greenhouse gas neutrality in Germany by 2045./lkm/DP/men
