Grammer set to expand automotive business in North America Tuesday January 15, 2013

•    Higher local presence and new production facility planned for 2013
•    NAFTA region sales up 30% in 2012



Amberg, Germany / Troy, MI, USA, January 15, 2013 - Grammer AG's Automotive division is set to expand further into its ongoing growth in North America being fuelled by numerous new product launches and successful acquisition of new projects. To secure this momentum, Grammer plans to intensify its local presence in the NAFTA region and invest in a new production facility in North America - further increasing the importance of this market for the company.


Presently, Grammer already generates roughly 20% of its sales through automotive business in the NAFTA region. In 2012, revenues from interior components in the world's largest and most important car market were up 30% from the previous year.


Grammer Automotive in North America develops and produces innovative products for cars from US manufacturers as well as for the models from German premium carmakers that are produced in the NAFTA region. Customer support for the market is headquartered at the company's sales office in Troy, Michigan. Headrests, armrests and center consoles are produced at Grammer's two plants in Mexico.
