In terms of provisions of Regulation 30 (read with Part A of Schedule III) and other applicable provisions of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (Listing Regulations), Goa Carbon Limited informed that the Company's Goa plant has received a notice on May 08, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from National Green Tribunal (NGT) over alleged environmental pollution case being filed against the Company's Goa plant. In terms of provisions of Regulation 30 (read with Part A of Schedule III) and other applicable provisions of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (Listing Regulations), this is to inform that the Company's Goa plant has received a notice on May 08, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from National Green Tribunal (NGT) over alleged environmental pollution case being filed against the Company's Goa plant. Vide its order dated April 26, 2024, the Tribunal has constituted a Joint Committee comprising of one member each of Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB), the Chief Secretary, State of Goa and Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), GSPCB being the nodal agency of the said Committee, with a direction that the Committee shall visit the company and submit a report as to whether: Company's Goa plant has been granted all the consents required to be obtained for setting up the Industry.

Whether the conditions laid down therein have been complied with by them or not and if there is any non- compliance. Amount of Environmental Damage Compensation (EDC) to be levied from the Company's Goa Plant and the corrective action to be proposed, if any. Report of the Committee to be submitted by the GSPCB within one month.

The date of hearing is on July 18, 2024. Date of receipt of direction or order, including any ad-interim or interim orders, or any other communication from the authority is May 08, 2024. It is alleged that the Company's Goa plant is emitting toxic and impermissible effluent fumes causing air pollution.

The Company's Goa plant has been consistently operating with valid consent to operate (CTO) from the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB). Furthermore, the GSPCB has recently renewed this consent following thorough inspections of the pollution control equipment and verification of permitted emission levels. With these processes completed diligently, the management believes the plant has strong standing in this matter.
