Today, Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen opened GN ReSound's new advanced hybrids factory in Præstø, Denmark. Digital solutions, wireless streaming and Made for iPhone hearing aids have formed the basis for GN ReSound's success in recent years. With the opening of the new advanced hybrids factory in Præstø, Denmark, GN ReSound is prepared for the production of the 5th generation wireless hearing aids.

GN ReSound's factory in Præstø, Denmark, produces some of the world's smallest and most complicated chips benefiting hearing aid users in more than 90 countries. The chips or hybrids, which is the technical terminology, form the 'brain' of the hearing aid. The advanced factory in Præstø is located close to GN ReSound's R&D department in Ballerup as it keeps quality high and R&D and production closely integrated.

Over the past more than five years, GN ReSound has increased its market share quarter by quarter. Recently, the direct streaming from GN ReSound's hearing aids to iPhones and iPads have created significant attention worldwide. This success, based on knowledge and innovation, has led to the expansion of the production capacity so it is possible to produce 2.8 million chips yearly.

The new production facility in Præstø also minimizes the risk in case of a fire and helps to create more jobs in Denmark and technical competitiveness.
