GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter ended March 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of JPY 9,992 million compared to JPY 5,730 million a year ago. Operating profit was JPY 2,536 million compared to JPY 1,879 million a year ago. Ordinary profit was JPY 2,370 million compared to JPY 1,918 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 1,084 million or JPY 29.19 per share compared to JPY 1,151 million or JPY 31.01 per share a year ago. Cash flows from operating activities were JPY 1,919 million compared to JPY 3,451 million a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was JPY 25.466 million compared to JPY 8.41 million a year ago. Purchase of intangible assets was JPY 585 million compared to JPY 281.37 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was at JPY 2,260.85 million against JPY 1,916.35 million reported last year.
For the year ending September 30, 2017, the company expects consolidated net sales of JPY 20,370 million, operating income of JPY 5,013 million, ordinary income of JPY 4,762 million and profit attributable to owners of the company of JPY 2,762 million or JPY 74.35 per share.
For the year ending September 30, 2017, the company expects dividend of JPY 37.00 per share compared to JPY 27.00 per share a year ago.

The Company operates in three business segments. The Payment Agency segment is engaged in the provision of online and continuous payment agency services and face-to-face payment agency services. The Finance Related segment is engaged in the provision of payment, remittance services and other money services, the provision of transaction lending to finance growth funds, as well as the provision of early payment services to improve the cash flow of member stores. The Payment Activation segment is engaged in the provision of mobile payment, authentication, notification and other services, as well as the provision of customer collection support services to improve sales of member stores.
