Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

RMI extended its involvement in education with the sponsorship of an undergraduate student team in Georgia Tech's 2011 Industrial and Systems Engineering Senior Design Competition. The RMI sponsored team was announced as the winner of the competition by developing an optimization model for industrial companies to manage rail shipments and reduce rail transportation costs. The student team worked closely with RMI staff and gained practical experience in complex modeling, data analysis, and optimization techniques.

The competition involved more than 20 student teams and corporate sponsors. Members of the Georgia Tech student team, led by Faculty Advisor Dr. Xiaoming Huo, included Sikander Hajiyani, John Kang, Zachary Laguna, Sojeong Lee, Camilo Lotero, Clara Moon and Tina Yu.
