Alternative aircraft fueling station at Sheremetyevo

The AFS is a part of the airport fuel supply system and is designed for the receipt, storage and delivery of aviation fuel at Sheremetyevo. The AFS equipment is fully automatic and conforms to Russian and international standards. The oil store includes four tanks with a total capacity of around 18 thousand m³. The station's infrastructure was expanded in 2012 through construction of an apron aviation fueling post with a fuel flow rate of 300 m³ per hour. 18 state-of-the-art fuel tankers have been purchased, and licenses and other permits to operate at Sheremetyevo have been obtained. Construction of the main infrastructure facilities of the station was completed in February 2012. Jet fuel is delivered to the AFS from the Moscow Refinery .

Vladimir Egorov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Aero, commented, «Having our own aircraft fueling station at one of the major airports of the Moscow air hub greatly expands the company's potential in offering a guaranteed and uninterrupted supply of aviation fuel and promotes the development of a competitive environment. Given the high capacity of Sheremetyevo Airport and its future development plans, we may increase the tank farm of the AFS by almost 150%.»
