HONOLULU (AP) _ First Hawaiian Inc. (FHB) on Friday reported fourth-quarter net income of $73.2 million.

The bank, based in Honolulu, said it had earnings of 40 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 57 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $263.1 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $235.2 million, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $216.4 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $305.1 million, or $1.59 per share. Revenue was reported as $918.4 million.
