BOARD CHANGES
The Board of Equator Resources Ltd ("Equator" or the "Company") (ASX: EQU), is pleased to advise that it has appointed Mr Duncan McBain to the Board as a Non-Executive Director.
Mr McBain has over 36 years' experience in the resources industry, and is currently the principal of Operandi Consulting which evaluates resource opportunities and sources potential projects for a range of industry clients. Prior to this Duncan was the Managing Director of ASX listed IMX Resources which he took from explorer through to production by using innovative logistics solutions at its low capital cost Cairn Hill magnetite-copper project and guided to achieving commercial outcomes for their projects targeting nickel and platinum group metals in Tanzania and Mozambique.
Mr McBain commenced his career as an Exploration Geologist in South Africa. He spent 15 years with Rio Tinto in Australia and Asia in exploration geology and business analysis roles and later held the position of Director, Corporate Finance with Patersons Securities where he originated or was team leader in 41 mandates raising a total of $394m for small to mid-cap resources companies over a 5 year period.
Mr McBain holds a BSc (Hons) degree in geology from Aberdeen University.
Mr Rhod Grivas has resigned from the Board and will be replaced as Chairman by Niles Helmboldt who is currently a Non-Executive Director and was instrumental in vending the Liberian assets into Equator. Mr Helmboldt has extensive knowledge of Liberia and the Company assets in Liberia
