The Hamburg port group HHLA will continue to be managed by Angela Titzrath following the entry of the major shipping company MSC.

The 57-year-old's contract has been extended by five years, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) announced on Tuesday. "I am delighted that Angela Titzrath is prepared to continue to lead HHLA in the coming years," said Supervisory Board Chairman Rüdiger Grube. Titzrath has led the Group since 2017; her contract would have expired in September 2024. The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and the Hanseatic City of Hamburg together secured more than 92 percent of HHLA in December, with Hamburg intending to reduce its stake from around 70 to 50.1 percent.

HHLA's new Chief Financial Officer comes from the Essen-based energy supplier Steag, which has recently been owned by the Spanish financial investor Asterion Capital Partners: Annette Walter held the same position there, having previously organized the integration of Innogy for the energy giant E.ON. Walter's predecessor Tanja Dreilich threw in the towel last summer after just six months.
