BATON ROUGE, La. - Jody R. Montelaro has been named director of governmental affairs for Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C., taking the department leadership reins from Murphy A. "Andy" Dreher III, who retired on July 1 after more than 30 years with Entergy.

Montelaro joined Entergy's Louisiana utilities in 2011 as a senior governmental affairs executive responsible for addressing the company's legislative-related issues with the Louisiana Legislature and various state agencies.

"We are excited to have Jody take on this new role," said Bill Mohl, president and chief executive officer of Entergy's Louisiana utilities. "He has demonstrated that he is a talented and respected leader who has a wealth of knowledge about Louisiana policy, the industry sector and the workings of state government.

"Andy has been a tremendous asset to the Entergy system, and we will truly miss him," said Mohl, "but I know that Jody also too will excel in his new leadership role."

Prior to joining Entergy, Montelaro served as senior policy advisor to Gov. Bobby Jindal in the areas of natural resources, environmental quality, wildlife and fisheries, agriculture, corrections and state police issues. He also served as secretary of the Louisiana State Mineral and Energy Board and previously served as assistant executive counsel to the governor. Prior to his years with the state, Montelaro practiced corporate litigation at the law firm of Adams and Reese, LLP. In addition, he served a year-long clerkship for Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Catherine "Kitty" Kimball.

Montelaro is an honors graduate of Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans, where he served as law school president.

Entergy's Louisiana utility companies serve more than one million customers through the operating companies Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. With operations in southern, central and northeastern Louisiana, the companies are part of Entergy Corporation's electric system serving 2.8 million customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas.
