San Donato Milanese, 21 January 2016 - Eni has made it onto the index for the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World. Eni is the only Italian company to feature on the index.

The index, launched in 2005 by Corporate Knights, a media, research and financial information products company devoted to quantifying and disclosing the drivers of 'sustainable' capitalism, every year elects the 100 most sustainable corporations among leading companies worldwide. The corporations examined by Corporate Knights have a market capitalization of at least US$ 2 billion (as at October 1st of each year), and are evaluated according to 12 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The most noteworthy aspects by Eni's scores with regard to these KPIs are as follows:

  • Strong improvement in the ratio between the CEO's salary and the average salary of employees, and in leadership diversity
  • Improvement in the indicators relating to energy consumption, emissions and water consumption
  • Improvement in the indicator that links remuneration to sustainability goals

These results are yet further confirmation of Eni's unswerving attention to sustainable development and to the responsible management of its business.
