Eni's exhibition dedicated to Georges de La Tour continues...Six young street artists paint the exhibition wall.

San Donato Milanese (Milan), 9 January 2012- Yesterday was the last day of the exhibition of the two masterpieces by Georges de La Tour, The Adoration of the Shepherdsand St. Joseph the Carpenter, organized by Eni in collaboration with the Louvre and the Milan Town Council. The exhibition was a resounding success, receiving over 210,000 visitors. But whilst this exhibition has closed, a new project begins. The creativity will continue with six young street artists who, with their Exchanges in Artperformance, have breathed new life into the exhibition wall.

Continuing the artistic journey which began with the exhibition, Exchanges in Artwill unfold during a single night in the Alessi hall of Palazzo Marino, in the heart of Milan, and will subsequently be exhibited in the Superground gallery in the southern outskirts of the city. Art becomes a trait d'unionbetween the past, through the French painter, and the present, through six contemporary artists; between the centre of Milan, where the wall will be painted, and the suburbs of the city, where the wall will be rebuilt; between night, when the work will be carried out, and day, when the work will be exhibited.

Throughout the night of the 9th January, artists from different streams of expression (poetry, pop art, street art, graffiti, illustration and painting), will paint the structure inside the Alessi Hall of Palazzo Marino, built to display the works of La Tour, in water-based acrylic paints. The performance will last approximately 17 hours, during which behind-the-scenes footage of the artists' work will be filmed and streamed live at www.lucisullarte.it . Once completed, the wall will be rebuilt and displayed at the "Superground" gallery on the southern outskirts of Milan (Romolo), a space, born from the ashes of an old industrial canteen, which hosts artistic, social, cultural and theatrical events. The exhibition, to which admission is free, will run from the 14th to the 31st January, from 10am to 7pm.

The artists involved in the project are all from Milan, have had solo and group exhibitions and publications, and, despite their young age (between 30 and 35), have distinguished themselves on the Italian art scene. All the artists come from the street artmovement, but over the years have developed a personal artistic and expressive identity that makes their work unique. From the poetry of Ivan, who for years has used streets around the world as blank pages for his verses, to the smooth shapes of Pao and the more feminine and delicate ones of Nais, which contrast with the impulsive matter of the post-expressionist works of Tawa and with the illustrative pop style of TvBoy and of the streetportraits of Seacreative.
The Eni event has been organised in collaboration with the Milan town Council, Art Kitchen (Creative Producer, Jacopo Perfetti) and Aleart.
