Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that it has been recognized as the Converged Network Adapter (CNA) Market Leader for the second year in a row by IT professionals polled in the October 2010 CNA Brand Leader Report conducted by IT Brand Pulse. The survey respondents selected Emulex as the CNA Market Leader, as well as the leader in the five other categories included in the survey – price, performance, reliability, service and support, and innovation.

?Being recognized for brand leadership by IT professionals across every category that IT Brand Pulse surveyed can be attributed to the incredible market support our OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) have received incredible market traction since they were launched in October of last year, with design wins from leading server and storage Original Equipment Manufacturers, including Cisco, Compellent, Dell, EMC, Fujitsu, Hitachi Data Systems, HP, IBM and NetApp,? said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. ?Emulex's UCNA architecture allows end users to easily scale their infrastructures with a base 10Gb/s Ethernet network adapter and field enablement options for iSCSI and FCoE hardware acceleration, providing investment protection and compelling cost saving benefits.?

More than 50 percent of the survey respondents selected Emulex as the CNA leader for overall market, price, performance, reliability, service and support, and innovation over Broadcom, Brocade, Intel and QLogic. As compared to 2009, Emulex increased its brand market leadership by at least 20 percent across all categories, indicating that it has broadened and deepened its leadership over the past year.

?Emulex opened up their lead in the second annual CNA Brand Leader survey,? said Frank Berry, CEO, IT Brand Pulse, ?A familiar name in storage, the Emulex brand has been enhanced in 2010 by OEM validation in the much larger Ethernet market.?
