[Attachment] Jason Ruddle, Elecosoft's Chief Operating Officer, discusses with BIM+ how the industry will need to realise the cost benefits of BIM's potential to increase housebuilding efficiency if it is to respond to the national housing imperatives. For 2017, two major government announcements: new brownfield 'affordable' starter homes in 30 local authority areas around England, and a 'dramatic expansion' of funding for affordable housing are in place. However, we are awaiting the imminent Housing White Paper that complements these funding plans. More houses are needed as soon as possible, this sense of urgency will likely dominate housebuilding and filter through to the construction supply chain.
