easyJet PLC reported operating and sales results for the first quarter ended December 31, 2017. For the first quarter, the company announced passengers of 18.8 million compared to 17.4 million a year ago. Seats flown were 20.4 million compared to 19.3 million. Load factor was 92.1% compared to 90.0% a year ago.

For the first quarter the company reported total revenue of £1,140 million compared to £997 million a year ago.

For the second quarter, the company expects revenue per seat is expected to increase by mid to high single digits. This reflects good underlying revenue performance, lower market capacity growth as well as the partial benefit of the timing of Easter, which will therefore have a negative impact on the third quarter.

For the half year, the company expects seat capacity excluding Tegel is planned to grow in the first half year by around 5%.

For full year, the company expects seat capacity excluding Tegel is planned to grow by between 5% and 6% for the full year as it pursues it purposeful network investment strategy, subject to normal levels of disruption.
