DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), the leader in high-definition audio, today announced a deal to provide its audio decoding solutions to LG Electronics (LG), one of the world's largest and most innovative mobile phone manufacturers. As part of the agreement, DTS' audio decoding (or DTS Digital Surround) technology will be integrated into certain LG Smartphones and tablets, enhancing the audio experience of consumers who will enjoy the ultimate in high definition and a more immersive sound experience built into their phones' multimedia players.

?DTS is synonymous with the highest quality audio, and we are delighted to be delivering the best audio experience via LG mobile devices to consumers around the world,? said Brian Towne, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of DTS. ?With our integrated Digital Surround technology, consumers will benefit from clearer, more dynamic and fuller sound when listening to mobile media content.?

These new offerings from LG include a DTS decoder with two-channel analog and two-channel PCM output through a mini HDMI output. This enables customers to stream content from their phones to a number of external sources, while experiencing DTS sound.

The first line of LG products to feature DTS technology were launched in Korea in December, with an additional worldwide launch set for 2011.

The integration of DTS technology in LG products is the latest milestone in the growth of DTS, a company that is quickly becoming a household name among consumers in the home entertainment arena. Recognition of DTS' expansion is evident by the growing popularity of its DTS-HD Master Audio? technology in the Blu-ray disc format, its emergence into the PC space with DTS Premium Suite?, and an ever-growing presence in network connected and online media capable devices.
