DSP Group Inc. announced the availability of its next-generation DVF99, the newest member of the company's XciteR VoIP family of voice processors. DSP Group's innovative DVF99 is the next generation of IP Phone and advanced ATA SoCs (System on a Chip), and was specifically developed for Tier 1 enterprise telephony OEMs. Designed to meet the needs of the enterprise IP telephony market, the DVF99 is based on a multi-core architecture that provides best-in-class voice experience, robust security, enhanced graphics and advanced peripherals. The SoC enables OEMs to build a scalable range of VoIP phones with superb voice quality and low power consumption, while maintaining an optimal cost/performance ratio.

Built with two ARM926EJ-S(TM) cores, providing combined processing speed of 1.1 GHz, the DVF99 supports all IP phone processing needs - from basic single-line IP phones to high-end multi-line gigabit Ethernet IP phones with large color display and advanced GUI. The DVF99 also integrates multiple hardware accelerators, including a hardware security engine which enables a new class of secure IP phones, an LCD controller, a 2D graphics engine, a high-speed USB 2.0 port, DDR3 memory and a wide range of standard chip interfaces. With an eye to ecologically-friendly low power consumption, the DVF99 includes low power capable peripherals and incorporates a firmware-based low power management scheme to minimize power consumption during low-usage periods.

The DVF99 complements existing DSP Group XciteR solutions, including the DVFD818x VoIP processor which enables price-performance optimized low end VoIP solutions, and the DMW96 media processor, targeting high end VoIP and video media terminals.
